Traditional talk therapy left me frustrated as I found that it was helpful for identifying where pain comes from and how it feeds maladaptive behaviors- yet it provides little structure for cultivating the tools and skills necessary for implementing and sustaining the change and growth that clients come to therapy looking for.
I’ve found that DBT provides a straightforward structure and a multitude of clear and effective tools for reducing problematic habits, managing emotions, and improving relationships. I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space where we can work together to imagine the life you want, look at the life you have, and plan together to manage the obstacles to bring the two closer together.
